Hair Loss Treatment, while thinning hair is a normal part of the aging process, excessive thinning of hair can be the result of factors you may very well have control over—and some that are, unfortunately, embedded in your DNA. But that doesn’t mean you need to start calling those late-night-television 800 numbers for a “free” hair loss evaluation, which typically results in costly hair loss treatment. In fact, recent advances in medical science has uncovered healthy hair loss treatment regiments to help slow hair loss due to hereditary, hormonal changes, irritation, damage, and diseases, such as autoimmune disorder.

Hair loss treatment – the basiscs

First the basics. Hair grows in cycles—a growth phase and a resting phase. The growth phase of scalp hair (anagen) typically lasts two to three years, during which your hair will grow less than a half inch per month. The resting phase (telogen) generally lasts three to four months. Hair strands will fall out at the end of this phrase, with new ones taking their place. The growth stage begins anew once the hair is shed. Shedding amounts to fifty to one hundred hairs a day. Since most people have nearly 100,000 hairs in their scalp, the loss of fifty to one hundred hairs a day should not be that noticeable.

However, when hair loss exceeds the amount of the growth—when you start finding hair bunched up on the bottom of the tub after a shower, this is a sure indication that one day you may be wearing sunscreen on your head. There are, of course, specific types of hair loss that require hair loss treatment. Pattern baldness, for example, which applies to men and women, is when the growth time shortens and new hairs fail to remain thick and sturdy. Heredity is generally the key factor in pattern baldness, especially if there is a history of androgenetic alopecia in the family. Hair loss treatment may also be necessary due to cicatricial (scarring) alopecia, which is when inflammation damages and scars the hair follicle and new hair is prevented from growing. Other medical issues that can exacerbate hair loss and may result in hair loss treatment include telogen effluvium, in which an emotional or physical shock to your system that causes hair roots to be pushed prematurely into the resting state, and traction alopecia, which is when excessive hairstyling or hairstyles pull your hair too tightly and results in scarring of your scalp and permanent damage to the root.

Poor nutrition may also result in hair loss treatment—especially if you excessively engage in fad diets or have an eating disorder. Certain drugs for treating gout, arthritis, depression, heart problems, and high blood pressure may cause hair loss as well; this includes taking birth control pills. Finally, diabetes and lupus may lead to hair loss, and chemo and radiation therapy typically leads to alopecia. Fortunately, as radiation treatment subsides, hair will typically begin to grow back and hair loss treatment may not be necessary.

What can you do to help prevent hair loss in just about any of these situations? Here are ten tips for hair loss treatment, recommended by medical professionals and health and beauty experts.

Ten tips for hair loss treatment

1. Certain shampoos, which can be used in hair loss treatment, may help slow or stop hair loss. Check the labels. Shampoos that contain rosemary or caffeine may help promote blood circulation, which will stimulate the scalp and the hair follicle. Avoid using shampoos advertised for hair loss treatment that contain a laundry list of ingredients (especially ammonium lauryl sulfate, ammonium laureth sulfate, ammonium xylene sulfonate, TEA lauryl sulfate, and sulfur, which is found in dandruff shampoos).

2. Silica capsules or drops are useful in hair loss treatment to help strengthen nails and hair. It will take two to three months of consistent use to see visible results. Another common vitamin for hair loss treatment is biotin, which helps promote healthy cell growth. Read the labels for dosage recommendations.

3. Several different oils may be beneficial in hair loss treatment. Castor oil, for example, helps build strong, thick, and voluminous hair. Simply mix about a teaspoon of castor oil into your regular shampoo, followed by using a natural conditioner (minus the aforementioned chemical additives). The difference in hair texture and density will become immediately noticeable, though stopping hair loss itself as a result will be more gradual. The anti-inflammatory properties of emu oil will keep it from clogging up your pores in hair loss treatment. Rubbing the oil directly onto the scalp and leaving it in overnight will help strength hair follicles. Olive oil also helps to heal stubborn scalps and provides nourishment for your hair in a course of hair loss treatment. Finally, sesame oil will add sheen to your hair and help relieve scalp irritation. Use about a teaspoon of these oils, either mixed in with your shampoo or leave it in your hair overnight (wear a night cap to keep the oil from getting all over your pillow case).

4. Medications (prescription and nonprescription) are also used in hair loss treatment. Most of these medications contain alfatradiol, which blocks the enzyme that converts testosterone into dihydrotestosterone, which is the hormone that converts damaging hair.

5. Apple cider vinegar and black strap molasses have been used for centuries for hair loss treatment. Apple cider vinegar contains essential probiotics that will help stabilize your hair’s natural bacteria balance. Wash your hair with a mixture of half water and half apple cider. Eating two tablespoons of black strap molasses every day will help maintain your energy levels, hair, and skin due to its high levels of iron. Iron deficiency is also a notable factor in sudden hair loss.

6. Aloe vera, the plants of which are easy to grow, will also help in hair loss treatment. In fact, aloe vera is a common ingredient in most shampoos because it helps balance a scalp’s pH levels.

7. Following a diet that contains protein-rich foods such as tuna, lean meat, and whole milk is also useful in hair loss treatment. Protein is necessary for tissue repair and for the construction of new tissue, especially in the scalp, where it help prevent hair breakage.

8. It’s not just protein that helps maintain healthy hair. You also want to include lots of vegetables and fruits in your diet. Eating a variety of fruits and vegetables will add the essential vitamins and minerals necessary for hair loss treatment. Dark green vegetables, such as spinach, broccoli, and Swiss chard, are excellent sources of vitamins A and C.

9. You also want to keep in mind how you wash your hair in a hair loss treatment regiment (and in general). Wash your head with cold or luke-warm water. Hot water will damage your hair follicles. Do not wash your hair with a bar of soap, which is meant for your skin. You also want to avoid using the high-heat setting on your hair dryer. And it’s always best to avoid excessive use of hair dyes and a curling iron.

10. Finally, abiding by a few simple common sense rules for healthy living will help with a hair loss treatment. For one, quit smoking and ease up on alcohol use. Avoid wearing a tight hair style, which will ultimately pull your hair from its roots. And get proper sleep, which will help alleviate stress—stress often leads to premature graying and hair loss.

Conclusion of hair loss treatment

Following all of these tips for hair loss treatment will not always guarantee a fashion model’s luxurious head of hair. However, if you fail to achieve any kind of positive result, it is critical that you see your doctor. There may be a health issue going on that you are unaware of. The doctor will look at your medical history, such as what medications you are using and hereditary issues, and help you devise a hair loss treatment plan. Keep in mind that most insurance carriers do not cover hair loss treatment.

How to make your hair grow faster – is it even possible? Not only is it possible, but probably a lot easier than you might think. If you are one of those people who are suffering from stunted hair growth, you are not alone! There are tons of people who face this challenge. The great news is that because this challenge is so common, there is a lot of available information to remedy the problem.

There are a ton of different ways to speed up the growth process of your hair. If you pay attention to the needs of your scalp and hair you will find yourself well on your way to discovering how to make your hair grow faster. Below is a list of ten useful tips to help you achieve the speediest hair growth possible.

How to Make Your Hair Grow Faster – Ten Tips for Maximum Growth in Minimal Time

1 – Free Those Follicles

Planning on how to make your hair grow faster should start with the basics. Just like a lush lawn starts with healthy soil, a lush head of hair starts with healthy follicles. Hair follicles are the launching pads for growing hair, and also where the root is planted. The better the condition of the follicle, the better the chance that new hair will spring from the root. Additionally, healthy follicles will hold onto the hair longer, extending the lifespan of your hair cycle. The biggest hair follicle challenge is preventing them from being clogged. While some of this clogging comes from the essential oils in our hair, other build-up from dirt, dead skin and hair products will also seriously clog follicles. The best way to free your follicles from this build-up is to keep the hair and scalp clean. Lightening up on product use and making sure to properly rinse hair after washing and conditioning is key.

2 – Pump Up the Protein

Protein is an important ingredient for any plan on how to make your hair grow faster. Protein is significant to hair growth because it strengthens and increases tensile capabilities. Essentially, pumping up your protein intake will allow more stretch and less snap. Preventing breakage is key to growing long hair, and protein is one of the best ways to see your hair survive. Make sure you have plenty of protein-rich foods in your diet.

3 – Brush Without Breaking

Any plan on how to make your hair grow faster will surely be foiled by bad brushing habits. A great majority of the hairs that we lose or break come from the way that we brush. First off, hard plastic bristle brushes are the worst offenders. It is best to use a natural bristle brush or a wide tooth comb. Even more important than the type of brush, is how and when we use it. Never brush wet hair, because when it is wet it’s at its most vulnerable state. Also, be gentle and careful when brushing, being sure to never force your way through snarls. If you have a tangled mess to deal with, start from the bottom and work your way up.

4 – Let it Flow to Let it Grow

An important part of discovering how to make your hair grow faster is coming to the realization that sometimes less is more. Less product and hair accessories put into your hair usually means the more hair that you will grow – or keep! Hair clips, barrettes and hair ties unfortunately cause your hair undue stress, which ultimately means broken hair, split ends and premature shedding. In addition to hair accessories, hair styles that require typhoon-proof hair spray, mousse or hair gel will do the same. The best way to jump-start great hair-growing is to keep those locks free-flowing!

5 – Subtract Before You Add

In order to get your hair growing its best and fastest it is essential to have it regularly trimmed. Most people seeking longer hair aren’t keen on the idea of cutting it, but the bottom line is that trimming off dead ends will lead to a healthier head of hair. The most efficient plan on how to make your hair grow faster starts with snipping off the damaged hair. It usually doesn’t take much to get the hair in good enough shape to do its best work. Simply tell your hairdresser that you are looking to grow your hair long, but need to have the minimal amount trimmed for a healthier starting point. Having less than an inch trimmed from your length could lead to several inches grown in its place.

6 – Turn Down the Heat

Learning how to make your hair grow faster almost always calls for changes to your usual haircare routine. One of the biggest changes should be turning the heat down! Heat is simply no good for growing a healthy mane of long hair. Heat generating tools such as hair straighteners, blow dryers and curling irons all rob the hair of important oils. Stripping the hair of these essential oils not only dulls the hair, but makes it brittle and prone to breaking. For this reason, any plan to grow your hair must be accommodated by minimal use of heated hair tools. In addition to easing up on the heated tools, washing and rinsing with warm water instead of hot is ideal for maximum growth potential.

7 – Eat Right to Grow Your Locks

While previously protein was mentioned as a required ingredient to maximize your hair growth, it is not the only important hair-growing food that you can pile on your plate. Your plan on how to make your hair grow faster must be developed from the inside out. This means that for optimum hair growth you must be taking in the proper nutrients and vitamins required. A healthy body grows the healthiest hair. Food for healthy hair includes salmon, tangerines, poultry, beans, eggs, green veggies and low-fat dairy. These are just a handful of some of the foods that are known for stimulating hair growth and keeping it looking its best. In general, eating right and avoiding sugar, caffeine and fat is the best plan for speedy hair growth.

8 – Give Your Scalp a Massage

Discovering how to make your hair grow faster will ultimately teach you to appreciate your scalp a little more! This unsung hero does most of the work and gets no glory! Not only is the scalp the stage in which the all-important hair follicles do their magic, but it can also be stimulated into better performance. A gentle massage to the scalp works wonders for blood circulation – which inspires faster growing hair. The best part is that while you are buying yourself some bonus points with your scalp, you get to enjoy the relaxing benefits as well.

9 – Exercise Your Way to Longer Hair

Just like a scalp massage will stimulate blood flow, so will exercise. This is why any plan on how to make your hair grow faster should include cardio-exercise. Not only does exercise work to keep your blood pumping efficiently, but it also decreases Cortisone – which causes hair loss and stunted growth. Additionally, regular exercise also works to regulate hormones, which is important to healthy hair. For anyone with a very athletic lifestyle, it is important to understand that it can also be overdone. Too much activity without enough rest will have the opposite effect, actually causing hair loss.

10 – Avoid Tress Stress

Learning how to make your hair grow faster means discovering the best ways to treat it right. Almost all of the damage to our hair is done by nobody other than ourselves. An important aspect to growing your hair in minimal time is avoiding undue hair stress. Steer clear of chemical-packed products. Try to keep the products you use as natural as possible. Also, think of ways to lessen the stress you cause to your hair in the haircare routine. For example, if you are out on a windy day, wear a hat, scarf or a hood. While wind itself may not do much to your hair, brushing the wind-blown hair back into place may very well cause a little breakage. Do your best to avoid tangles and snarls by taking preventative measures.

How to Make Your Hair Grow Faster – The Bottom Line

The ten above-mentioned tips all work to increase the rate in which your hair grows. Just as important as new growth, these tips also put extreme focus on keeping your already-grown hair in place. While every hair has a normal cycle that eventually leads to its departure, extending the life of the cycle keeps a full and healthier head of hair. The most important thing of all is to simply treat your hair and scalp right. Never abuse your hair in an attempt to make it look better. The only way to get cooperation from your slow-poke hair is to entice it into speeding up.

Proper maintenance, gentle hair care and natural products will all assist in your plan for maximum hair growth in minimal time. However, this plan will not work if you are only focusing on your mane. Keeping your body healthy will lead to your very best results. Not only will you discover how to make your hair grow faster, but you will also look better and feel better while doing it.

Tips for healthy hair can assist considerably in improving the appearance, growth and feel of our hair. Our most important accessory, hair has instant impact on our looks. For this reason, great looking hair is something almost all of us long to have.

No matter what your hair challenge, there are plenty of ways to make things better. The varying problems people face with their hair include dead-ends, dull hair, stunted growth and frizz. These are only some of the many frustrations that we face because of our hair.

The great news for anyone facing these hair issues is that there are loads of helpful tips for healthy hair. With some tweaking to your haircare routine and some basic lifestyle changes, your hair can see vast improvement. Below is a list of ten great tips for healthy hair.

10 Top Tips for Healthy Hair

1 – Trim those tresses!

This simple little task makes a tremendous difference to the overall health and appearance of your hair. It is amazing how many people refuse to keep up with this essential part of hair care. The bottom line is that trimming our hair is the best way to rejuvenate its best qualities. Regular trimmings will stimulate growth, deplete dead-ends and considerably lessen the frizz. The most common offenders that refuse to abide by this important rule are those die-hard long-haired types. (Yep. We know you are out there.) For some, their long hair is so treasured that even a simple trim is too much. However, in the long run, the lack of regular trimming will slow down the growth and affect the appearance negatively. There is absolutely no way to achieve your healthiest hair without regular trimming. Depending on your hair type and rate of growth, every 4-8 weeks is generally the best schedule for regular trimmings. Consult your hair stylist for the schedule that best suits you. While you are at it, go ahead and hit them up for any other tips for healthy hair that they can offer.

2 – Ease up on the accessories.

One of the most important tips for healthy hair is simply treating it right. One of the best ways to do so is by avoiding accessories that break and snap our hair. Hair ties, barrettes, headbands and clips all do a fair share of damage to our hair. A great way to improve the overall appearance of your hair is to lay low on these damaging accessories. Constant use of hair accessories will cause major breakage and excessive split-ends. This does not mean that accessories can not be used, but minimal use will be best for the health and appearance of your hair.

3 – Trust Mother Nature.

One of the most commonly overlooked tips for healthy hair is going natural. Putting a little faith into Mother Nature is a great way to find your hair cooperating. The thing about Mother Nature is that she provides us with an amazing arsenal of useful weapons to battle almost every ailment we have. Damaged hair is no exception. There are numerous natural remedies to seek for the best hair possible. For example, eggs can be used for a conditioning treatment, and Aloe Vera gel and lemon are great additives for your favorite shampoo. The bottom line is going natural for awhile, or at least as natural as possible, is a smart way to stimulate your hair into cooperation. Let go of your harsh hair products, and you will likely be surprised to see a marked improvement in your hair.

4 – Know your hair-type.

Tips for healthy hair are going to be the most effective if you truly understand your hair type. Understanding the ‘personality’ of your hair is a sure-fire way to achieve the healthiest hair possible. While there are many characteristics of our different hair-types that are similar enough to call for the same haircare techniques, knowing the variables that give your hair distinction is a great way to tune-in to the needs of your own hair. This means ‘listen’ to your hair. Pay attention to how it responds to the products that you use, changing climate, and the things which you consume. Paying attention to these things will help you fine-tune a personal haircare plan, and zero in on the best tips for healthy hair for you.

5 – Beauty starts from the inside.

While we are told not to judge a book by its cover, we are all mostly guilty of doing so to some degree. If not for the sake of our own ‘cover,’ we would have very little interest in the appearance of our hair! Looking good on the outside is important to us, however, it truly starts from the inside. This means that what we put into our bodies has huge effect on the outside view. Eating with your general health in mind is also going to assist in the health of your hair. Any list of great tips for healthy hair is most likely going to put emphasis on the importance of eating the right foods. While vitamins can be taken in pill form, there is absolutely no better way to deliver important nutrients to your system than the way that Mother Nature intended – through the food that you eat. The many hair-healthy foods include salmon, oysters, carrots, sweet potatoes, eggs, beans, poultry, low-fat dairy, cantaloup, spinach and green vegetables. Food for healthy hair is extremely important to your hair’s rate of growth, sheen and strength.

6 – Balance more than just your diet.

Any list of tips for healthy hair is likely going to mention the importance of a balanced diet. However, while a balanced diet is certainly a huge contributor to great hair, it is not the only area that needs balancing. Proper sleep and stress-control are also important to your hair. In fact, stress is the number one cause of excessive hair loss. To best keep those hairs in your head, find a way to balance the stress-causing factors in your life. Yoga, workouts, walking, and praying are all effective ways to lower the stress level. Additionally, achieving the proper amount of sleep is also important to living a balanced lifestyle. Just like your plate should be balanced with grain, vegetables and protein, your lifestyle should be balanced with sleep, exercise and stress control.

7 – Timing is essential for healthy hair.

Having a healthy haircare routine is essential for great hair. However, the timing of our haircare is just as important. This is because so many of the requirements for healthy hair are determined by when and how we do things. For example, when and how we brush our hair is key to limiting split-ends. Brushing wet hair will maximize the number of hairs that break. Also, well-timed haircare will have you avoiding the blow dryer and other damaging tools that are used in a time-pinch. Switching up your morning routine in an attempt to allow your hair the time to air-dry will significantly improve the health of your hair. Brushing hair after it is dry not only lessens the chance of splitting ends, but it’s also much easier to get the brush through it. If your hair likes to morph into a force-field that prevents entry of a brush or comb, simply spritz with a gentle no-tangle spray while still damp.

8 – Protect your hair from the elements.

Most tips for healthy hair emphasize the importance of protecting it from damage. While most of us realize that chemical-laden products are an enemy for healthy hair, we tend to fall short in realizing the dangers that our environment can pose. Our hair shares many of the same characteristics of our skin. Just like our skin, the elements can wreak havoc to the health of our hair. Exposure to damaging UV rays or frigid winds can cause major damage. While the sun is a great way to naturally lighten our hair, it can also cause excessive dryness and dullness. For this reason, limited exposure is best. Wear a hat or bandana if you are spending an excessive amount of time in the blazing sun. Additionally, a scarf is a great shield against damaging winds and frigid temperatures.

9 – Create a hair-healthy toolbox.

Preparation is key for successful haircare. That is why having a properly stocked ‘toolbox’ is one of the most important tips for healthy hair. Nothing spells out failure to succeed more than the lack of preparation. Make sure you have a gentle shampoo and conditioner, preferably made of the most natural ingredients possible. While eating right is a key element for having healthy hair, a daily multivitamin is certainly going to assist as well. As far as the brush, avoid the hard, plastic bristle brushes, and go for the more flexible rubber bristle brushes. Also, as previously mentioned, make sure your accessories are as hair-friendly as possible. Try to use a hair clip rather than a barrette, as they tend to cause less breakage, and make sure your hair ties are covered with fabric.

10 – Relax, take a chill pill.

While many important tips for healthy hair call for swift action, you should never underestimate the power of taking it down a few notches. This means that sometimes the best way to take care of yourself is to give yourself a little break. When you put things into perspective, you will likely see that most of the damage to your hair has been self-created. Ironically, we tend to damage our hair by attempting to make it look its best! We plunk down serious money on products that promise to do things that they rarely do. We also use blazing hot hair tools to style our hair, and in the end we are only creating more problems. Whenever you can, take a break from your haircare routine in general. Skip the products, the styling and even the worry of what it looks like. If you allow yourself – and your hair – a little breathing room every now and then, getting your hair to look its best will feel far less like a chore. Remind yourself that your hair problems didn’t happen overnight, nor will you be able to fix it overnight. It simply takes time and patience.

The Lowdown on Tips for Healthy Hair

While the ten tips listed above are all going to assist in achieving a healthier head of hair, the bottom line is that the best hair is usually found on top of the heads of the healthiest bodies. This is not because some people just have all the luck! It is no coincidence that the people who eat a healthful diet and regularly exercise also happen to be the people that have great bodies, complexions and bouncy, healthy shining heads of hair!

There are no tips for healthy hair that will counter-act an unhealthy lifestyle. Treating your body (and soul) right is the only way to get the best results. Eat, drink, sleep, play and live with your health in mind, and your best self – and of course, hair – will soon emerge.

When the federal government recently changed the health guidelines, many people were struck by the fact that for people struggling to make ends meet in today’s economy, it was just about impossible.

So, in order to see if the government is living up to their own standards, NewsChannel 15 asked a mother and a chef to see if they could feed a family of four healthy meals for a week with just $68.88, the average amount someone on food stamps receives from the government.

But even for families not on food stamps, such as families facing unemployment and foreclosure, the rising cost of food and dwindling resources make eating healthy and cheap a real challenge.

Beth Goff is a homeowner, a wife, and a mother who on an average week spends around $115 on groceries, trying to eat as healthy as possible.

Vitamins for hair growth, what’s about them? Well, do you think your hair is not looking good enough? Or, do you envy those other women out there that have a shiny and beautifully looking hair that you have always wanted to have? Are you worried that you will lose your hair prematurely or before you even find your soul mate?

Well, you can now relax and forget about all those as you are about to discover how you, too, can have the shiny and beautifully looking hair of your lifetime dream. As a matter of fact, by simply consuming the proper vitamins, you will see your hair grow beautifully and shiny in no time at all.

So, what are the best vitamins for hair growth?

Vitamins for Hair Growth – Vitamin E

Most of the time, people will think of vitamin E as the vitamin for the skin. Well, while this may well be true to some extent, vitamin E is not only useful for the skin. In fact, since it serves as an antioxidant, vitamin E is really useful in protecting the hair from the undesirable free radicals that will damage the hair badly. After all, how can the hair grow if the free radicals keep attacking it?

Vitamins for Hair Growth – Vitamin C

A lot of researchers have figured out in their studies that vitamin C is crucial to the hair as well. They have figured out that hair discoloration and hair loss often take place because people lack of this particular vitamin. With an adequate amount of vitamin C within the body, the blood will flow well within the body and, of course, the scalp.

Nevertheless, it is never recommended that people consume too much of this vitamin. It’s useless and the excess of the vitamin C will simply be removed from the body when people urinate.

Vitamins for Hair Growth – Vitamin B Complex

Vitamin B comes in plenty of forms. However, most of the forms are very useful in terms of promoting hair growth. However, out of all the forms, biotin seems to be the most advantageous. It can help give more strength to people’s nails and hair. Not only that, this particular form of vitamin B can also make the hair more elastic.

Yet, of course, other forms of vitamin B besides biotin alone are also very important. Some of them can prevent hair thinning while some others can prevent hair discoloration and hair loss.

Vitamins for Hair Growth – Vitamin A

This vitamin can also help protect the hair from free radicals. However, consuming this vitamin too much will trigger hair loss. Ironic, isn’t it? Therefore, this vitamin should not necessarily be consumed.

Well, those are the best vitamins for hair growth that you can try if you want to look attractive to the men out there or if you want those other women to envy your miraculous appearance.

Physicians and patients could benefit from hair professionals being trained to help in the early detection of skin cancer on the scalp, neck and face, a study says.

Nearly 60% of 203 hair professionals surveyed at 17 salons in the Houston area said they already had recommended at least once that a customer see a health professional for an abnormal mole, said a report in the October Archives of Dermatology (archderm.ama-assn.org/cgi/content/abstract/147/10/1159/).

In addition, 37% looked at more than half of their customers’ scalps for suspicious lesions during the previous month, 29% checked more than half of their customers’ necks, and 30% looked at more than half of their customers’ faces.

Vitamins for healthy hair are of utmost importance as well in addition to the most commonly known minerals and proteins. Well, it is an inevitable fact that the hair is built mainly with proteins. With that being said, consuming a high concentration of proteins every day is a surefire way to take a good care of the hair or, better yet, to help grow long hair that is also shiny and healthy. However, it is not a wise idea, either, to put aside vitamins as they are crucially needed by other nutrients in the attempt to grow a healthy hair. Fortunately, vitamins for healthy hair are not so hard to find and below are some examples of them.

List of vitamins for healthy hair

Vitamins for Healthy Hair – Vitamin A

Thanks to the antioxidant properties it has, the vitamin A has the ability to prevent free radicals from getting into people’s hair. This is very important as free radicals tend to affect the hair in a negative rather than a positive way. Not only can vitamin A prevent the hair from being damaged, it can significantly increase the oil production in the scalp as well. Just for information, the hair counts on this oil heavily in order to glow and to be moist. The oil can even keep away bacteria that are harmful to the hair.

Vitamins for Healthy Hair – Vitamin B Complex

Vitamin B comes in quite a few forms. However, what a miracle that most, if not all, of them are very useful for the hair. Vitamin B3 (niacin), for instance, keeps hair thinning at bay. Pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), in comparison, prevents the hair from graying out. Vitamin B6, on the other hand, tries to promote hair growth so that hair loss won’t happen.

Then, there is vitamin B2 that helps the hair absorb other forms of vitamin B. With that being said, vitamin B2 is the most important among all other forms of vitamin B.

Vitamins for Healthy Hair – Vitamin C

According to researchers, vitamin C is a critical vitamin that the hair should take in. This is because this particular vitamin helps prevent hair loss and discoloration. Vitamin C is able to enhance the flow of blood throughout the entire human body and that includes the scalp of the hair. However, taking in vitamin C excessively is a useless attempt as the excess will get removed when people urinate.

Vitamins for Healthy Hair – Vitamin E

Known commonly as skin vitamin, vitamin E actually has a lot of other uses for human body. It acts as an antioxidant and it fights the free radicals that are the last thing the hair will need.

After all being said, the hair should never lack of any vitamins for healthy hair.

An epidemic of obesity is sweeping the world and governments are worried about the impact and the multi-billion dollar cost of treating people.

The Federal Government in Australia has established a healthy food initiative to bring researchers, health experts and manufacturers together to work to cut the amount of fat, salt and sugar in processed food.

Ingrid Appelquist, a senior researcher at the CSIRO says food processors are not to blame for the health crisis.

“They produce food to taste good and it makes up about 80 per cent of the food that is consumed. They are making changes to remove a lot of the fat and salt. They’re accused a lot and I wouldn’t say they aren’t the evil ones here.”

The Federal Government has set up a food and health dialogue to exchange information with the food processing sector and the CSIRO is working on the research to support that plan.

Appelquist says the focus has been on reducing salt levels because there’s a lot of evidence linking cardio vascular diseases to high salt intake.

Salt reduction is not the only thing food manufacturers have been working on.

“A lot companies are also taking a more holistic approach, introducing more fibre, reducing sodium (salt) and fat levels.”
